Polarn O. Pyret

ETA: I’ve been having quite a few enquiries from people, I just to make it clear to everyone that I have no affiliation with POP. I’m merely a fan. If you have any queries or questions please contact them directly through their website. Thanks folks.

It’s not often I go shopping these days and I rarely get excited about it. However, we went off today to Brent Cross and were steaming through all the other mothers with buggies but was stopped in my tracks when I saw these (see below) snails looking at me. This would have to be the best store and they only opened last Thursday apparently. They have a few other concessions in House of Fraser across the UK but this appears to be the only store in London I could see from their website. They do some adorable clothing for babies and children and some of the maternity wear looked ok as well.

Swedish goodies

There’s nothing like swedish design, eh?! We love it!! I bought some wee baby gifties as well as this top and legging/pants for Coco. I could have spent some serious money in there………..but go and check it out if you’re local. It’s fantastic.

Snail leggings

It’s so hard to find anything other than pink for girls, isn’t it?

Hi, this is Mats and I am the MD of PO.P (Polarn O. Pyret) in the UK. I am really glad to read your comments and that you like our clothes. My wife and I launched the brand early this year and the uptake has been really good. We also have a store in Windsor and we hope to have more stores open next year. We just received the winter collection this week which looks really nice. I hope you like it too!

I grew up in Sweden wearing PO.P and now love to dress my own children in it. It’s great to hear that shops are opening in England. Any plans to open a shop in Brighton in 2007 Mats?

Brighton - no short term plans as yet for Brighton but it is a hot area for the brand. We are rolling out Franchise Opportunities later this year. Contact PO.P through the website polarnopyret.com for further information!

I LOVE this brand. I went wild in their store in stockholm in September, and am desperate for more…but Brent X from my side of town is a nightmare.
The quality of this product is unbelievable. Everyone comments on my son’s clothes when he is wearing them and I direct them to Sweden, but now can tell them about Brent X. ( or hopefully somewhere closer!)

Hurra! PoP shop in Windsor and Brent X, delighted, emailing all my swedish friends right now and will advice www.svenskamammor.com to spread the news for you! Open in Kingston? plenty of scandi’s around and prob less expensive rent than richmond…

I have a 3 months old son and have just discovered POP in BrentX. I absolutely love it and would also recommend it to all my friends.

Hello again. It is so nice to see your comments about PO.P. We will be opening in House of Fraser Oxford Street soon, as well as in Jenners Edinburgh. A new store will open in October in Derby. If you are too far away from a PO.P store you can call our Windsor store on 01753 622 233 to order what you want until we get e-commerce up and running. Choose your clothes first on our website www.polarnopyret.com!

My son has the ‘twin’ jacket in dark brown and we love it but why are there no ski gloves to match in brown?!!!

My baby lives in P.OP clothes! My 8 month old has the stiped outfits in all the colours. You know when you have an idea in your head of what you want to find when you go shopping? When I found this store in Norwich it was like a dream come true! The clothes are the best baby clothes I have ever come across, they last ages, wear well, wash superbly, and they are also the cutest around.

I also have a 6 yr old but unfortunately the Norwich concession didn’t go up to that ge. I now live in London and am hoping to visit the Brent X store soon.

If you like PoP I suggest you check out Du Pareil au meme (DPam to avoid the mouthful), now in Kingston and Lakeside. They are big in France and rest of Europe and I was so happy when I heard they were coming to UK. The designs are so creative and unusual and beautiful and the prices are amazing. I’m addicted to their baby girl stuff and friends always ask where I get my daughters clothes and now they can’t get enough of it as well. They are in the Bentall Centre in Kingston and if you’ve got kids under 12 then its well worth the visit.
